Francesca Pittaluga is the identity behind 3AVRIL.

Having graduated from the UlA (International University of Art of Florence), she was admitted, in 1998, in the Opificio delle Pietre Dure of Florence, in the department of restoration and conservation of cultural heritage.

Over time, her professional experience has been diversified and her skills have been enriched with experiences in the world of interior architecture, photography and contemporary art.

Then comes the day when she sits for the first time in front of a potter's wheel and touches the clay. She discovers the enchantment of working with this material, its potential and its alchemy. Passion and obsession allowed her to master the technique and discover many of the secrets of this wonderful art.

Essentially self-taught, she attended several courses, enhancing specific techniques with various ceramists in Italy and abroad. This approach allowed her to develop her own language and technique, while defining her artistic identity.

She teaches at Studio Ici Céramique in Geneva and lives between Switzerland and Italy, working on the development of her creative projects.

ARTISTIC INTENTION

Spread beauty: art never ceases to remind us that, in its duality, the human being is not only a destroyer but also a creator. Through artistic expression, man owns the ability to create wonder, to cause enchantment and, in some way, this contrast recreates balance. This allows us not to fall into resentment and contempt but to continue to spread beauty in its most diverse forms, of human interaction and creative realization.

SCULPTURE

In her works the artist avoids any type of verisimilitude and plays, staging moods and sensations that belong to her but which invite the observer to get lost in his owns emotions without limits.

On a blank canvas it would never have been possible for her to represent the experience of living in all its emotional complexity, while it glides perfectly on the curves of the sculptural material.

Dozens of images and ideas overlap in her imagination. Silence creates the perfect condition, inspiration animates a thought and the project comes to life. In the creative act the urgency is transformed and a space opens up suspended, of calm and fluidity, in which body, mind and soul vibrate together with same intensity. In balance with the deepest self.

Expressing herself through ceramic creation allows the artist to speak in silence. Each curve, each volume, defines the next one. The work is born in absolute improvisation and the slightest interference from the environment, both external and internal, has an impact on the final form.
